DocuSign Envelope ID: B2F80A3D-2199-4E30-A2D1-9F1FB52AFB50 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 4039 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANACORTES, WASHINGTON, AMENDING <br /> THE TABLE IN SECTION 10.08.030(B) TO REDUCE SPEED LIMITS IN CERTAIN <br /> AREAS. <br /> Whereas, the speed limit on Oakes Avenue from Illinois to Ferry Terminal Road was changed <br /> from 40mph to 30mph by the Washington State Department of Transportation, and, <br /> Whereas, "A"Avenue from south city line north to 371h Street is the only 40mph road within <br /> city limits, and, <br /> Whereas, "A"Avenue is used as an access point to the Anacortes Community Forest Lands, and <br /> the city will be installing a new rapid flashing beacon crosswalk on this corridor for cyclists and <br /> pedestrians, and, <br /> Whereas, in order to properly reflect the speed limit change in the City of Anacortes Municipal <br /> Code, and, in keeping consistency with speed limits within the city limits and reducing safety <br /> hazards for pedestrians and bicyclists at the crosswalk to be installed, and, <br /> Whereas, the City desires to change the speed limit on Oakes Avenue from Illinois to Ferry <br /> Terminal Road from 40mph to 30mph, and the City desires to lower the speed limit of"A"Avenue <br /> from south city line north to 37th St. from 40mph to 30mph. <br /> Now, therefore, the City Council of the City of Anacortes does ordain as follows: <br /> Section 1. That the Table in Section 10.08.030(B) of the Anacortes Municipal Code is amended <br /> as follows: Oakes Avenue;Illinois Avenue to Ferry Terminal Road; 30mph <br /> Section 2. That the Table in Section 10.08.030(B) of the Anacortes Municipal Code is amended <br /> as follows:A Avenue; south city line north to 37th Street.; 30mph <br /> Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and <br /> publication in the manner required by law. <br />
