DocuSign Envelope ID: D6D5C08F-EC66-4822-85C2-DD7E8BBB7F47 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 3029 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANACORTES, AUTHORIZING THE <br /> HIRING OF 2 POSITIONS THAT ARE BUDGETED BUT UNFILLED IN 2021, AND <br /> AUTHORIZING THE HIRING OF AN ADDITIONAL PARKS MAINTENANCE POSITION THAT <br /> WAS ADDED THROUGH A BUDGET AMENDMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anacortes adopted Ordinance 3086 establishing the 2021 <br /> budget, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Covid crisis hiring freeze that was enacted in March of 2020 was enforced in section 4 <br /> of the 2021 budget ordinance 3086 requiring a council resolution to authorize any hiring done into <br /> Governmental funds during the 2021 fiscal year, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation department is such a Governmental fund that relies primarily on tax <br /> revenues, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation department is preparing for post Covid programming and activities, <br /> and has an open and unfilled position in its budget for an Anacortes Senior Activity Center (ASAC) <br /> Administrator that will need to be filled to effectively open the ASAC, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation department anticipates difficulty in keeping up in its infrastructure <br /> maintenance requirements now that Parks and Rec programs are resuming, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation department has one open and unfilled position in its budget for a <br /> Parks Maintenance worker that they request authorization to hire, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation department had an additional Parks Maintenance position that was <br /> eliminated from the 2021 budget, and now request consideration to add back to the budget and fill this <br /> position, to keep up with parks maintenance requirements, and <br /> WHEREAS, a budget amendment is necessary to establish funding for said position. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anacortes that the Mayor is <br /> authorized to commence in the hiring of 1 Anacortes Senior Activity Center (ASAC) Administrator, and <br /> 2 Parks Maintenance workers. <br /> ADOPTED, at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Anacortes, this 26th day of April <br /> 2021,by a majority of the members. <br /> City of Anacortes, Washington <br /> BY: t' 't <br /> Laurie Gere, Mayor <br />
