DocuSign Envelope ID:51DD4665-DF9E-4FFF-B7CF-3A6C24FC9375 RESOLUTION 3011 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANACORTES, WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE SIGNATURE AND EXECUTION OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING TO THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE TEAMSTERS LOCAL 231 WHEREAS, the City of Anacortes ("the City") and Teamsters Union Local 231 ("the Union") are parties to a collective bargaining agreement("CBA")with effective dates of January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2022, and WHEREAS, Article 10.02.01 of the CBA provided a wage opener to address cost of living increases for successor years of the contract, and WHEREAS, The development of the Municipal Fiber department established employee positions whose duties were consistent with those of other City employees who were members of the Union, and were determined should be incorporated into Union membership, and WHEREAS,A Memorandum of Understanding was negotiated between the Union and the City, and approved by a vote of the majority of Union members, which incorporates the City Fiber employees into the Union, and WHEREAS, This MOU also satisfies section 10.02.01 of the CBA in that it authorizes a 2% Cost of Living Adjustment(COLA) for fiscal year 2021 to the Union represented employees, and WHEREAS, This MOU will be effective January 1,2021 thereby affecting City payroll on the second payroll cycle in January, for the January 20th payday. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Anacortes City Council that the Mayor is authorized and directed to execute the attached memorandum of understanding effective January 1, 2021 by and between the City of Anacortes and the Teamsters Local 231.
