RESOLUTION NO. 2039 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANACORTES, <br /> AUTHORIZING THE COMMEMORATIVE NAMING OF THE ANACORTES <br /> CHILDREN'S LIBRARY <br /> WHEREAS, Dr. Robert Maxson approached the City with an interest in donating <br /> $100,000 in honor of his wife, Dr. Sylvia Maxson, with a desire that those funds be used <br /> to support the Children's library; and <br /> WHEREAS, Dr. Maxson's donation has been provided to the Anacortes Public Library <br /> Foundation to be used in accordance with the donor's intent; and <br /> WHEREAS, in honor of their years of service and contributions to the Anacortes Public <br /> Library, and in recognition of her lifelong commitment to children's education and <br /> literacy and tireless support of youth in our community,the Library Board of Trustees <br /> recommends the City Council authorize the commemorative naming of the Children's <br /> Library as the Dr. Sylvia Maxson Children's Library, now therefore,be it <br /> RESOLVED, BY THE City Council of the City of Anacortes that the children's <br /> wing of the Anacortes Public Library be named the Dr. Sylvia Maxson Children's <br /> Library, and that such naming be reflected in a plaque or marker at or near the entrance of <br /> the renamed area. <br /> ADOPTED, at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Anacortes, <br /> this 1st day of April 2019, by a majority of the members. <br /> City of Anacortes, Washington <br /> A/`-- <br /> Laurie Gere, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> AULP <br /> Steven D.
