Determination of Nonsignificance
Description of proposal: The City of Anacortes is considering updates to its Community Forest
Lands Comprehensive Plan (the Plan).The Anacortes Community Forest Lands(ACFL) contain
approximately 3,000 acres of some of the most unique and complex living environments in the Puget
Sound Region. The Plan contains descriptions,goals, and policies for ACFL geographic management areas,
forestlands stewardship,and management of recreational areas. In an effort to develop a plan that works
to conserve and enhance the unique environment,the Anacortes Community Forest Lands Advisory Board
began discussing the process and updating the Plan in 2014.

The lead agency for this proposal has determined that it does not have a probable significant adverse
impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required under RCW
43.21C.030(2)(C). This decision was made after review of a completed environmental checklist and
other information on file with the lead agency. This information is available to the public on request.
This DNS is issued under WAC 197-11-340(2); the lead agency will not act on this proposal for 14 days
from the date below. Comments regarding this DNS must be submitted by March 27,2019.
