The scope of the project would include disconnecting utilities and <br /> removing the approximately 5,723 sq. ft. structure; approximately 1,600 sq. ft. <br /> of the structure is up to 42 ft. waterward of the OHWM. The approximately 30 <br /> Request piers and posts on footings located under the structure are to be removed. <br /> Demolition landward of the OHWM would include, removal of remaining <br /> structure, foundation, and several small external foundations. Once the site is <br /> cleared of the demolition materials, the site and shoreline would be restored <br /> and stabilized with vegetation. The subject property is located in the Light <br /> Industrial (LI)zoning district and has a shoreline environment designation of <br /> Urban Maritime. <br /> The City of Anacortes Department of Planning, Community & Economic Development has determined <br /> that this project does not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. An <br /> environmental impact statement(EIS) is not required under RCW§43.21C.030(2)(c). This decision was <br /> made after review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the lead <br /> agency. This information is available at https://www.anacorteswa.gov/161/Planning-Community- <br /> Economic-Development under "Current Land Use Projects& Notices". <br /> This determination is based on the following findings and conclusions: <br /> • The proposal's conformance with existing Anacortes Municipal Code regulations and acquisition of <br /> applicable agency permits prior to site construction adequately address potential impacts of this <br /> project. <br /> • This DNS is issued under WAC 197-11-340(2) after using the Optional DNS process in WAC 197- <br /> 11-355.
