CITY OF ANACORTES,WASHINGTON <br /> RESOLUTION NO.2032 <br /> A RESOLUTION of the City of Anacortes, ratifying the removal and repeal of the$20 <br /> vehicle licensing fee formerly adopted by the Anacortes Transportation Benefit District <br /> resolution number 2014-01. <br /> WHEREAS, on July 21, 2014 the City Council of the City of Anacortes adopted Ordinance 2926 to <br /> establish the Anacortes Transportation Benefit District, and <br /> WHEREAS, on August 18, 2014 the Anacortes Transportation Benefit District adopted resolution <br /> 2014-01 setting a$20 vehicle license fee consistent with RCW 36.73.065 to be collected on vehicles <br /> registered within the District,the revenues from which were to be used consistent with Resolution 1895 <br /> adopted by the Anacortes City Council on July 21, 2014, and <br /> WHEREAS, on July 16, 2018 City Council of the City of Anacortes adopted Resolution 2018 repealing <br /> Resolution 1895 and intending on repealing the $20 TBD fee if a .2% sales tax increase was authorized <br /> by Anacortes voters, and <br /> WHEREAS, on July 9, 2018 City Council of the City of Anacortes adopted Resolution 2017 <br /> authorizing a vote on a .2% sales tax increase, and <br /> WHEREAS, on November 6, 2018 a majority of voters authorized said .2% sales tax increase, and <br /> WHEREAS, on December 26, 2018, the City executed and submitted a Mutual Termination to Inter <br /> Agency Agreement between the Washington State Department of Licensing and Anacortes Tax Benefit <br /> District, with such termination to be effective April 1, 2019, effectively ending the $20 car tab fee as of <br /> the date of termination; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE ANACORTES CITY COUNCIL DOES RESOLVE: <br /> To ratify the City's Mutual Termination to Inter Agency Agreement between the Washington State <br /> Department of Licensing and Anacortes Tax Benefit District, which will effectively repeal the $20 <br /> Anacortes Transportation Benefit District vehicle licensing fee, with an effective date of April 1, 2019. <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council this 2,60' day of February, 2019. <br /> CITY OF ANAC TES <br /> Laurie Gere, Mayor <br /> Resolution 2032 1 <br />
