The OilTector° system will activate the pump to remove water from elevator pits in accordance with ASME A17.1, and will provide pumping of only water - even if an oil condition is detected. The OilTector° cycles the pump only in the water range. Oil and other harmful substances are not discharged into the environment. An alarm is activated in the event of a high water condition or high oil condition. Pump will remain on until the water level is below the "pump off' probe. When the "pump off' probe no longer senses water it turns the pump off, air and/or oil are ignored and an oil layer (if present) will not be pumped out of the sump. If the liquid level reaches the "alarm" probe and mechanical float, the system will differentiate between water and oil and activate the appropriate alarm.
