Call to Order
Mayor Matt Miller called to order the Anacortes City Council meeting of January 3,2023,at 6:00 p.m.
Councilmembers Jeremy Carter,Ryan Walters,Anthony Young,Christine Cleland-McGrath,Carolyn Moulton,
Bruce McDougall were present.
Councilmembers Young, Cleland-McGrath and McDougall participated in the meeting remotely via Zoom.
Councilmember Amanda Hubik was absent,but unanimously excused by a Motion by Mr. Carter and a Second
by Mr. Young.
Pledge of Allegiance
The assembly joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Announcements and Committee Reports
Mayor Miller expressed a Happy New year to all,and noted that work on the Trestle rebuild had begun.
Public Comment
Mayor Miller invited the public to comment on any item not on the agenda.
TJ Fantini of Anacortes offered comments regarding the proposed housing development on West 5th Street
as proposed by the Habitat for Humanity on December 12th.Mr. Fantini offered that he is in favor of
affordable housing,even in his neighborhood which the proposal is,but expressed concern at the number of
houses that are proposed homes in the project.He also expressed concerns with the associated road and
sidewalk infrastructure in that same area.
Consent Agenda
Ms. Moulton moved, seconded by Mr.Walters,to approve the following Consent Agenda items. The motion
carried unanimously by voice vote.
a. Minutes of December 19,2022
b. Approval of claims in the amount of$941,362.65
The following vouchers/checks were approved for payment:
EFT numbers: 105096 through 105153,total$508,205.67
Check numbers: 105154 through 105164,total$283,733.92
Wire transfer numbers: 315244 through 315943,total$149,423.06
Adiournment
There being no further business,at approximately 6:09 p.m. the Anacortes City Council meeting of January 3,
2023, was adjourned.
