Remarks:
MTC on site as requested to visually inspect reinforcing steel at the following location(s):
1.) MTC observed the completion of the reinforcing steel for the building foundation stem walls at grid lines (A-D/1-6).
MTC observed that the walls were inspected per plan sheet S2.1 and the typical details called out.
-Reinforcing Steel Inspection:
1.) MTC visually inspected the reinforcing steel at the locations noted that the reinforcing steel complied with the
approved project plans and specifications. MTC observed the reinforcing steel size, grade, type, and placement.
Deficiencies cleared:
-At multiple locations, MTC noted the vertical reinforcing was not centered in the wall. The contractor is asking for
engineer approval for this condition - The engineer of record accepted the misaligned reinforcing steel as long as a
minimum 1-1/2" clearance is maintained. MTC verified the 1-1/2" clearance.
-The corner bars at the wall intersections are specified to alternate directions.- MTC verified that the contractor moved
the corner bars at intersections to alternating.
-The diagonal bar at the step footings was not in place. - MTC verified diagonal bars were in place at the step footings.
-The 180-degree hook bar was not in place at the wall ends. - MTC verified the 180-degree hooks at the ends of walls.
-Wood spacers were being removed from the bottom of the wall at this time. - MTC verified wood spacers and debris were
removed from the forms.
This clears the deficiencies noted on report #F254380.
