MTC on site as requested to visually inspect reinforcing steel at the following location(s):
1.) MTC observed the completion of the reinforcing steel for the building foundation stem walls at grid lines (A-D/1-6).
MTC observed that the walls were inspected per plan sheet S2.1 and the typical details called out.
-Reinforcing Steel Inspection:
1.) MTC visually inspected the reinforcing steel at the locations noted that the reinforcing steel complied with the
approved project plans and specifications with the exceptions noted below. MTC observed the reinforcing steel size,
grade, type, and placement.
Deficiencies
-At multiple locations, MTC noted the vertical reinforcing was not centered in the wall. The contractor is asking for
engineer approval for this condition
-The corner bars at the wall intersections are specified to alternate directions.
-The diagonal bar at the step footings was not in place.
-The 180-degree hook bar was not in place at the wall ends.
-Wood spacers were being removed from the bottom of the wall at this time.
MTC will very completion or acceptance of these items prior to placement of concrete.
Deficiencies cleared with reinspection on 4/27/21. Reference report #F254463
