HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-04-18 City Council Minutes Approved (2) Anacortes City Council Minutes - April 18, 2022 Call to Order Special Joint Meeting with the Port of Anacortes Commission Mayor Matt Miller called to order the advertised special joint meeting of the Anacortes City Council and the Port of Anacortes Commission at 6:00 p.m. Councilmembers Jeremy Carter,Ryan Walters,Anthony Young, Christine Cleland-McGrath, Carolyn Moulton,Bruce McDougall and Amanda Hubik were present. Port of Anacortes Commission Chair Bonnie Bowers called the meeting to order for the Port. Pledge of Allegiance The assembly joined in the Pledge of Allegiance. Resolution 3081: Maritime Strategic Plan 2022 Planning Director Don Measamer presented Resolution 3081 which would adopt a revised 2022 version of the Anacortes Maritime Strategic Plan jointly prepared by the City of Anacortes,the Port of Anacortes, the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Alliance of Skagit County. Mr. Measamer reviewed the plan and its collaborative development. Commissioners and councilmembers commented favorably on the plan and made suggestions for future revisions. RYAN WALTERS moved, seconded by ANTHONY YOUNG, to approve Resolution 3081 as presented. Vote: Ayes -JEREMY CARTER,ANTHONY YOUNG,RYAN WALTERS, CHRISTINE CLELAND-MCGRATH, CAROLYN MOULTON,BRUCE MCDOUGALL,Amanda Hubik.Nays -None. Result: Passed The Port Commission also voted to approve the 2022 Maritime Strategic Plan. Ceremonial Signing of Maritime Strategic Plan Mayor Miller,Port of Anacortes Executive Director Dan Worra,Anacortes Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jesica Kiser and EDASC CEO John Sternlicht signed the Plan. Adjournment There being no further business, at approximately 6:52 p.m. the Anacortes City Council special joint meeting with the Port of Anacortes Commission was adjourned.
