COR-2000-Storage Shed and Paving Elevations -
THE ORB ORGAN=ZA'Z'=ON, INC_ l ARCHITECTS • PLANNERS • ENGINEERS i Housing Authority of the City of Anacortes 8 May 2000 719 Q Avenue Anacortes, WA 98221 P Attn: Steve Jaf ray Storage Shed and Paving elevations Steve, Reference your fax of Friday evening, I have again redesigned the storage shed and walkway sketches to conform with City of Anacortes requirement that the paving in front of the sheds be level or within 1/2" of the shed floor elevation. They reference UBC/1003.3.1.6 as Criteria to follow. I believe that a step is OK, that exception 2 should apply in that the shed is not a "normally occupied" structure, but as they are the Authority Having Jurisdiction I will comply with their reading. SKI. Elevations have been slightly modified to reflect 1/2" drop, drainage is to the north. SK2. I had to essentially level the walkway from the front paved area running back to the graveled area. We now have a step up at the rear. A curb is required at the edge of the AC paving, as it is now up to 7" higher than the new walk. We also need to provide a raised (12") concrete stub wall at that end of the shed. SK3. The area paving is now essentially level in front of both sheds (1/2" lower), and drains to the north in front of the ADA shed and to the re-established area drain at the south shed. We'll have to raise the grade slightly (6") to the south, in the grassed area. The Contractor will have to patch the AC paving under the play area and play curb where he damaged it. This paving will be slightly (31/2") higher than the PCC area paving on the south end. I think this is OK. SK4. Included to complete set. Only change is 1/2" drop. I hope this meets with the approval of everyone concerned. I am faxing to Rocket also in the interest of expediency. Sincerely, The ORB Organization, Inc.
