Dear Mr.Bickford:
After further discussion with staff it has been determined that it will not be necessary to assess additional
fees based on the revised RI occupancy group for the above referencedUroject. We would like to thank

you for bringing to our attention the occupancy permit issued to 910 23'
Street,which was issued as a
single family, group R3 occupancy. The certificate of occupancy will be re-issued to reflect an Rl
apartment occupancy group per UBC Section 310.
Each of the permits for the Anacortes Housing Authority project will be revised to indicate an RI
apartment occupancy group and re-issued. The original permits indicating a Group R3 occupancy groups
are null and void per UBC Section 106.4.5. Please find attached re-issued permits indicating a group Rl
occupancy group with no fee changes.
For clarification,an apartment house is any building or portion thereof that contains three or more dwelling
units and for the purpose of this code, includes residential condominiums per UBC Section 202. Group R
Division 1 occupancies are hotels"apartment houses"and congregate residences. (Each accommodating
more than 10 persons)UBC Section 310.
