Note 1.
Beams cannot be any larger than 4" x 6" due to clearance under the deck. Also
deck cannot be raised due to house door that leads out onto the deck.
Addition of extra pier blocks to reinforce beams is for span issue. The first 6' of
the deck next to the house is over an existing 4" plus thick concrete walk. The first
beam closest to the house sits on this walk with spacers between the beam and the
walk. The contractor, Tom Goode, can be reached at (517) 740-8409 for
clarification of this issue.
