Contractor had excavated house pad down to surface of bedrock to remove organic contaminated uncontrolled fill. Surface of bedrock is irregular and varies up to 6 to 7 vertical feet across house pad. Backfill consisting of excess rock from site used for backfilling with excavator. Rock is broken down into 12" diameter maximum, levelled out in 18"thick lifts and tamped and track- walked to compact. Fill is well placed and compacted and is firm and unyielding when hit repeatedly with excavator bucket. Some imported fill from F -1 pit in Oak Harbor will be used to finish top foot or two of fill.
