This plant takes in spent sulfuric acid as well as H2S acid gas from the two existing refineries, and regenerates the spent acid back into 93% concentration product. The regenerated acid is then returned to the refineries, where they utilize the sulfuric acid in their Sulfuric Acid Alkylation Unit (SAAU) as a catalyst. In this Project General Chemical is replacing their 1964 vintage WESP with a new Wet Electrostatic Precipitator. This CWP concerns only the civil and structural elements of the Project. This CWP is to be read in conjunction with the CWP documents from other disciplines outlined in Section 3.0. 2.0 WORK SAFETY 2.1 The work will be done in an operating Chemical plant.
