Subject: Deviation from driveway specifications.
I am in the process of having my driveway replaced due to severe cracking of
the old driveway which was installed 10 years ago. The cracking was due to
improper compacting by the building contractor at that time. The level of the
house and the landscaping were determined by the slope of the driveway,
which was at the maximum slope to permit normal access into my drive. Any
increase in the slope of the driveway will result in my cars bumper or shroud
hitting the ground when entering or leaving the garage. Even with the present
grade it frequently strikes when there are 2 people in the back seat.
I request that I be allowed to replace the driveway in such a manner that the
current grade will not be increased. I will not in any way hold the city
responsible for any flooding that may occur into my garage or yard as a result
of this deviation .
