A 6—mil poly soil gas retarder membrane is installed between the gravel and slab. All tears, seams, and joints in membrane are sealed. Any recessed lights are IC rated, air tight, and sealed to the ceiling sheetrock. Solar: (Light Frame, Sheetrock walls 3024.0 ft2) Thermal mass is directly exposed to conditioned space and is located within the space containing the solar glass, or an approved heat transfer mechanism is provided. Mass is covered by finish material of R-1 or less. Vapor retarder: 1.0 perm or less vapor retarder (e.g. poly, kraft paper, perm rated paint) is installed on the warm side of insulation in floors, ceilings and walls. A 0.5 perm vapor barrier is installed on all vaulted ceilings. Recessed lights: Any recessed light fixtures in the thermal envelope are certified under ASTM E-283 and labeled showing compliance, or are sealed around the exterior to be air tight. A motor-operated damper, located within 36 inches of the air handler, prevents air from entering the plenum when ventilation is not called for. A clock timer operates the designated whole-house exhaust fan, turns on the HVAC air handler, and opens the mechanical fresh air duct damper whenever ventilation is needed. Make-up air: The outdoor intake duct is equipped with a damper that limits flow to 170.0 CFM under normal operating conditions. All gas or oil combustion appliances (except stoves and clothes dryer) have outside combustion air ducted directly to the appliance. All stoves have an exhaust fan directly over them.
