I have highlighted on that ordinance the applicable fees pertaining to the waterline extension proposed. As noted in the Utility Extension Application, the waterline must be extended to City standards and plans and specifications must be provided for review and approval prior to commencing construction. As we discussed, easements for the actual waterline installation will be required through the Parkside Subdivision. Easements will also be required from Escher, Ford and yourself if the existing private road easement does not include provisions for utilities. The City will require an easement width of 20' . In order to provide sufficient flows for fire protection, an 8" waterline extension will be required with a minimum of one fire hydrant. The existing water extension policy requires that lines be extended to the furthermost property boundaries. Upon further consideration, I have decided to recommend that we deviate from this policy due to the lot sizes and the necessity for off site improvements to bring the waterline from its present terminus in the Parkside Subdivision. I would recommend that the line be extended 15 ' north of Escher' s north property line. The Council { will have to make the final decision on that deviation. . il Upon receipt of your utility extension application and application fee, I will schedule this item on the next available City Council agenda. Once the Council has reviewed the proposal and authorized the extension, you will be expected to engage the services of an engineer/surveyor to prepare the plans and specification to City standards for our review and approval. Once the plans have been approved, a preconstruction conference with your contractor will be scheduled and then construction can commence. In addition to the plans and specifications required, 1 s 4 V Page 2 August 31, 1993 an engineer' s estimate for the cost of improvements should be provided to the City to be used as a basis for establishing fees for review and construction inspection.
