Provide fix for support landings that have ledgers nailed to the walls and not supported in any other way. (1/29/20 correction date) 2. Blocking detail for hallway framing needs to be addressed where the blocking is either notched to accommodate the plumbing or cut into two pieces to accommodate the plumbing or other obstacles. The Authority Having Jurisdiction shall conduct a thorough examination of sufficient represen- tative installations, including destructive inspection, to provide verification of satisfactory compliance with this chapter, the appropriate manufacturer's installation instruc- tions applied by the installer, construction documents, speci- fications, and applicable manufacturer's product information. 1406.3 Penetrations. The Authority Having Jurisdiction shall determine the type, size, and quantity of penetrations to be inspected. >> 1406.4 Field Installations. The Authority Having Juris- diction shall compare the field installations with the docu- mentation supplied by the installer to determine the following: (1) The required F ratings (1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hour, or 4 hour) and T ratings (0 hour, 1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hour, or 4 hour) of the penetration firestop systems are at least the same as the hourly rating of the assembly being pene- trated. (2) The penetrating firestop system includes the pene- trating item as documented through testing of the systems conducted by an independent testing agency. (3) The penetrating firestop system is installed as tested. 242 2015 UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE cWWW """ 3 ' MEMO 907 30th Street concerns about the different rated fire-barriers: 2015 IBC 707.5 states that "fire barriers shall extend from the top of the foundation or floor/ceiling assembly below to the underside of the floor or roof sheathing, slab or deck above and shall be securely attached thereto." The shaft enclosures and the stairwells do not meet this code. They have joists, floor surfaces, and other obstacles breaking up this continuity of the fire barriers. 2015 IBC 707.7.1 states that "penetrations into enclosures for exit access stairways ramps, interior exit stairways and ramps, and exit passageways shall be allowed only where permitted by Sections 1019.. 1023.5 and 1024.6, respectively." The stairwells do not comply with this code and are not built as drawn on the plans. 1. 2015 IBC 1019 states that if floor openings containing and exit access stairway or ramp doesn't meet the conditions below, it must be enclosed in a shaft enclosure constructed in accordance with Section 713 of the 2015 IBC. 2. 2015 IBC 1023.5 states that penetrations into or through interior exit stairways and ramps are prohibited except where the ductwork and equipment are necessary for independent ventilation, pressurization, sprinkler piping, standpipes, electrical raceways for fire department communication systems. Exception is membrane penetrations allowed when protected in accordance with Section 714.3.2. 3. 2015 IBC 714.3.2 states "where walls or partitions are required to have a fire-resistance rating, recessed fixtures shall be installed such that the required fire resistance will not be reduced." 4. 2015 IBC 1024.6 states that penetrations into or through an exit passageway are prohibited except for equipment and ductwork necessary for independent pressurization, sprinkler piping, standpipes, electrical raceway for fire department communication and electrical raceway serving the exit passageway. It also says that there can't be penetrations or communicating openings, whether protected or not, between adjacent exit passageways. 2015 IBC 713.7.1 states that "openings other than those necessary for the purpose of the shaft shall not be permitted in a shaft enclosure.
