Dear Earl and Colleen;
This letter follows our phone conversation on October 22, 2020, regarding the site at 915 24th Street,Anacortes. As I
mentioned,the site was recently converted to a parking lot with the demolition of an existing single-family residence.
An after-the-fact demolition permit must be secured for removal of the house.Application is available at
https://www.anacorteswa.gov/DocumentCenter/View/5799/Demolition-Permit-Application-PDF. Please return the
completed application as soon as possible.
I have included a report from Mr. Steve Lange, Senior Engineering Tech,City of Anacortes, regarding various issues
that need to be addressed as follows:
Based on the work completed - 6,665 square feet of newly paved area—a complete storm water report that includes
minimum requirements 1 through 9 with water quality and water quantity?This report must be prepared by a
registered Washington State civil engineer, compliant with Washington State Department of Ecology requirements.
The ADA accessible parking stall wheelchair symbol must be blue on white background and state approved signs must
be placed at the head of each stall.
How was the existing sewer to the old house abandoned in place?
Site landscaping must be provided as required by the Anacortes Municipal Code.At this point, a site plan is required
to show the parking plan, landscaping, storm drainage proposal, signage, property lines.
The aforementioned issues, including issues presented in Mr. Lange's report,will need to be addressed prior to
occupancy of the building located at 2403 Commercial Avenue.
