The home was recently inspected for insulation(don't know by whom) and the inspection calls for the installation of a fan at the clothes washer. The plans did not include a fan because none existed. If a fan were installed it would never be used because clothes washers don't emit an appreciable level of moisture. The home is not an air-tight, energy efficient building so moisture is not an issue. The clothes dryer is in fact a mechanical vent with a CFM far more substantial than a typical exhaust fan and there is no exterior clothes line (i.e. the dryer has to be used every time). The original intent of the ventilation code did not apply to clothes washers. The installation of a fan would be a total waste of time, money,materials and labor. For these v id reasons I request that the fan requirement be withdrawn. However, a genuine concern for our neighbor relations and to hopefully ensure we do not vitiate an attractive neighborhood and it's values causes us to revisit this issue. Our large private coach (40. bus) will be quite unsightly and undoubtedly offensive if stored on the front of our lot for months at a time, year after year. We much prefer to provide indoor motorhome storage as some other Skyline residents have respectfully done. In this regard, our previous request is withdrawn in total. Now we are requesting to modify the overall height of the garage/shop module one, to a maximum of 13'10" from the surface of the driveway at the garage front. (The current measurement is only 12'.) This point on the driveway is the high point of the lot. We spoke with some neighbors about these plans. None of them took exception, and all 'verbally volunteered that our low-lying lots have no territorial view whatsoever. By consensus, a garaged motorhome is the better neighborhood value. WA 98221 Dear Mr. & Mrs. Marsh: Mayor Maxwell asked that I look into the concerns raised in your letter of June 10, 1999. regarding proposed maintenance dredging of the waterway in Flounder Bay. The City of Anacortes does not have any ownership interest in that waterway Skyline Associates, the developer of the Skyline Divisions, dedicated the waterway to "the public" as a public waterway, but leaving unanswered the question as to who "the public` is. In any event, the dedication by Skyline Associates specifically exempted the City of Anacortes from any duty or obligation to maintain or dredge the waterways that were dedicated to the public. It may be that the covenants and restrictions applicable to your particular division may provide some obligation on the part of the property owners in that division to participate in maintenance dredging. I do not have a copy of those covenants and restrictions before me to review. To my knowledge, the City has not received notice of any intent to dredge the waterway although periodic dredging is necessary to maintain proper water depth. Whether you as a property owner might have any obligation to participate in the costs of such dredging is unknown to me at this time. Any obligation to financially participate would require either a contractual basis or some process allowing for your participation. My suggestion would be to contact the Sk}'hne Beach Club or perhaps some of your neighbors to ect a better idea as to what is actually taking place.
