Subject: 2006 12th st.fence permit
Hey Rob, I talked to the building permit guys they told me to send you my application and explain I am trying to finish
my fence to get it completed. I added a new section already then found out I needed a permit so I'm trying to get it in so
I can continue with the building but I have a dog and my kids want to play in the backyard so I would like to keep going
but I want to make sure I'm following the rules everything that is left to do is just replacing the old broken fence so I will
give you what I have so far if you need anything else please let me know I have wed-Friday off and would really like to at
least finish the broken sections so I have a complete fenced back yard.
The lean to between the house and shed and the shed to the neighbors house was taken down during our purchase of
the home and are no longer there. I used google maps to kind of outline were the fence will be and I showed
measurements of property lines using the city GIS mapping to show roughly were the boundaries are. I know these are
not the stake markers but the only section left to do is replace the current fence that is still there so it would be just
replacing the sections.They used pole barn straps cemented in the ground and then bolted the 4x4 to those. I used the
same method on the new section with a Simpson strap cemented about 2ft down with a post hole digger and then the
4x4 is bolted using (4) 2" lag bolts. On the old sections I will just reuse the straps that are there and continue with the
new fence.I have also added pictures of the front and back of the new and old fence as well as pictures of the whole
fence line which also shows surroundings.The fence is 6' and I am going to bring up the grading by the side gate with
crushed rock to get rid of the gap between the bottom of the fence and the ground. Let me know if you need anything
from me or what steps I take to get the permit I know things are different with COVID going
on.
