Dear Joel,
It has been almost 18 years since fire damaged this property. Over the years we have had
several discussions about completion of repairs of the fire damage. As of this date the
repair work has not been completed and the property restored to a usable condition. 1
Several in the community consider the property to be a nuisance. We agree with this
assessment.
It is now time to complete the repairs or remove the improvements. With this letter you
are on notice to provide, within 30 days of the date of this letter, a complete plan and
work schedule to complete the project and restore the property to a safe and usable
condition suitable for occupancy as required by the zoning and building codes. The
project must be completed not later than January 2005.
Please be advised that failure to comply with this order could result in assessment of fines
and/or penalties prescribed by ordinance.

Mr. Guy Davidson is proposing a renovation of the existing single-family residence at

The following are comments and questions regarding the plan review done on the above-
mentioned project. Please revise drawings as needed.
1. Provide sprinkler heads in all rooms that do not meet the criteria specified in
NFPA 13d Section 8.6.3. Such as lower floor—bathrooms, wine room,
mechanical room and Main Floor—mud room, powder room and hallway at
mudroom. Lastly, Upper Floor—bath at bedroom 2, and closet bedroom 2.
2. Smoke detectors shall be provided in accordance with NFPA72-NFPA 13d
Section 6.3-(2).
3. Indicate required sign per NFPA13d Section 6.3 —(5) minimum '/4 inch
letters.
4. Provide verification of available flow/pressure at the street, taking into
consideration the water meter. Verify proposed water meter size need to
provide flow.

Dear Mr. Durham,
The following comments are based on the drawings and application provided for the fire
sprinkler system at 814 6th Street. The Anacortes Assistant Fire Chief and myself completed the
review.
1. The 2003 International Building Code, and the 2003 International Fire Code require
fire protection for the entire building. Please provide information showing how the
building complies with the 2003 IFC, Section 903.2.7. Sprinkler system provided
throughout all buildings with a Group R fire area. The Fire Department has
determined that IFC Section 903.2.7 requires a sprinkler system throughout the entire
building.
2. The site plan needs to show water meter size and locations.
3. Please provide manufacturers installation guidelines and listing for the Raupex
Tubing.
Please provide a code analysis, which describes proposed compliance with 2003 IFC and IBC.
