In the early 7 ' s I built the shop for repair and welding. I have used it for various uses since then. I had a commercial fishing boat and did my own repairs-etc. I had a buisness licence for the city of Anacortes in 1979 -( the only one I can find -) I am requesting a statement that the shop is grandfathered as a welding shop. I want to be sure that I can advertise it as a commercial welding and repair shop. Dickson , and motion passed with all eves . Jamison Variance (ea:. 4th Street ) Mr . Threet reviewed this request for height var lance for a non-sight obscuring fence from 41 /r feet to 6 feet fronting a.ppr- o:- imatel ,; 40 feet along 4th Street and 20 teet side--yard along F Avc,nue. There were no ohiectioneble comments from City Staff . Mr . Fran pointed out that there is no building setback requirement within the CBD zone; a 6-foot fence could he similarly acceptable. The non-obscuring fence on the corner lot wou.l d not he a traffic problem. Mr . Jamison stated that his work and stnraoe area has been pleoued b'v theft and vandalism, and the safety of trespassing children pla'- ing on the equipment is of major concern. He further stated that the permitted 41 r-foot fence would not provide adequate protection' against trespassing , rather a 6-foot is needed. The Board found that the applicant was e„posed to hardship and potential liability at his business location through no action of his own . Correspondence Mr .
