A complete framing inspection will need to be completed for the building to include a bolting inspection by an independent special inspection agency. Please check with Marc Estvold for design criteria. Please note that all corrections identified through the framing inspection will need to be completed prior to use of the building. 2. Please provide a building floor plan to show proposed storage area, type of storage, height of storage, exit doors, and exit aisles. 3. It appears the building is not heated at this time and would require permits for heating equipment installation as well as compliance with the current Washington state energy code. 4. An occupancy permit will be required prior to any use of the building per 1997 UBC Sect. 109. These are just a few of the items that need to be addressed prior to use of the building. Once we have received a proposed floor plan for use of the building other comments may need to be addressed. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. 360.293.1901. fl C Budding Department Memo To: Dave Lervik From: Don Measamer^ Date: 01/18/00 Re: 1208 4t± Street-Hughes Building John Hughes is proposing to pave the existing parking and alley for the building at 1208 4-tt'Street. Lundin, P. 710 Cherry Street Seattle, WA 98104 Re: Warehouse located at 1208 4th Street. Dear Mr. Lundin: I have reviewed your suggestion that the building, as of now without the former leased parking lot, could be in violation of city law. Review of the ordinance and of the building code indicates that on-site parking could be provided within the building with proper separation. Alternate avenues might be available to address this issue including purchasing or leasing land or existing parking within 200 feet of the building site. I hope this addresses your concerns. PO Box 547 Anacortes, WA 98221 Re : Warehouse Located at 1208 4th Street Dear Mr. Frank: As you know, I represent Mrs . Marija Franulovich. You and I discussed the warehouse adjacent to her property, in December of last year. I was given a copy of your letter to Susan Cummings of the United States Marshal' s office, dated December 22 , 1994 . In that letter, you discuss the city' s authorization to proceed with building the warehouse under a five year lease agreement for parking, which is now expired. You state in that letter that the city will allow the use of the warehouse to continue with "current available parking not including the lease lot . " When you and I talked on December 7, 1994 , you told me that the City of Anacortes requires two off-street parking spaces, at a minimum, for a warehouse. After you reviewed the plans for this warehouse, you told me that there were no off-street parking places, because of the configuration of the lot and the building. Given the fact that the city code requires at least two off- street parking spaces for a warehouse, and there are none in this warehouse, how can you say that the city will continue its use as a warehouse with "current available parking not including the leased lot . " It appears that the building is in violation of city law. I will be looking forward to hearing from yo on this matter. ' n. -rely, 10 Jilin W. Lu f n JWL/elm cc : Mrs . Based on the action taken by our former mayor, the city will allow the use to continue as a warehouse, with current available parking not including the leased lot.
