Thank you for the detailed information you submitted with your request for a zoning
determination relative to the above referenced property.
It is my determination that your basic use equates to an"office"use and that your accessory
museum use equates to a"gallery"use.Both offices and galleries are permitted uses in the R4
Zone.Accordingly, it is my conclusion as Zoning Administrator that your use is a permitted one
in the R4 Zone.
You will, of course, need to get a business license for your new location and this will involve
building and fire inspections relative to the details of your operation.

Dear '"r. Munce -
One of the Planning Department staff recommended that we
write regarding the house at 1102 16th Street, Anacortes,
Pie are interested in purchasing the house. It is zoned R4.
We would like to request your opinion on the allowability
of operating our letterpress studio and very small museum
exhibit at that location. Our printing is by comission,
and our client meets with us by appointment only. We have
normal, residential parking requirements . Materials for
production are: ink and paper. There is one gallon of
cleaning solvent on the premises, stored in a safety can.
Our shop towels (less than 25 per month) are cleaned by a
professional industrial laundry service.
Please notice that we have included a copy of our insur-
ance cover letter. It states the type of coverage we have
carried for many years . It is in effect at our present
location and will transfer to the 1102 16th Street address
if we begin work there. Vile intend to house equipment in
the detached garage (two car, 20t x 20T ) which was con-
structed in 1280, and is in excellent condition, The
structure will also house a small, antique museum exhibit
open limited hours and by appointment only. Average museum
visit is 15 minutes . V'p are eager to progress with our
plan to move, so as prompt a reply as is possible would be
greatly appreciated.
