HomeMy WebLinkAboutIL029 Interlocal Agreement CONTRACT FOR DISPATCH SERVICES THIS AGREEMENT MADE AND ENTERED INTO this 12thday of October , 1975 by and between the City of Anacortes, a municipal corporation, hereinafter called "City" and Skagit County Fire Protection District No. 17, hereinafter called "Fire District" . WHEREAS, the City presently operates a 24 hour emergency service dispatch center; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of both parties and the citizens of the City of Anacortes and the Fire District that a central emergency service center be set up with a 911 telephone number which would be utilized for dispatch of all emergency services within the Fidalgo Island and Guemes Island area; and WHEREAS, in order to establish a 911 central emergency service dispatch center it is necessary that all agencies utilizing emergency services in the area participate including the Fire District and the City, and NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby agreed by the parties hereto as follows: (1 ) The Fire District shall pay to the City for dispatch services provided and for expenses and costs associated with the establish- ment of the 911 central emergency dispatch service center in an amount as determined by that certain formula contained in Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof. (2) The City shall provide personnel and equipment to operate the emergency dispatch service center and shall receive calls and handle the dispatch of emergency equipment of said Fire District through the dispatch service center. (3) The Fire District shall pay to the City in accordance with the formula above referred to beginning with the calendar 1976 and the total amount due for each calendar year shall be paid in two installments with the first installment being payable on the 30th day of May , 1976, and the second installment being payable on the 30th day of November , 1976, with installments for future years being payable on the same day and month as set forth for the year 1976. (4) The dollar amounts and/or other figures listed as a part of the formula expressed in Exhibit "A" may be amended by the consent of all agencies participating in the emergency service dispatch center upon ninety (90) days written notification, except that assessed valuation shall be as determined yearly by the County Assessor' s Office and such assessed valuation shall be the certified assessed valuation of each participating agency for the previous calendar year. -1- (5) This Agreement made with the consent of all participating agencies may be cancelled by the tendering of written notice by a participant of at least twelve calendar months, but in no event not earlier than December 31 , 1975. (6) The assessed valuation for the formula listed on the attached Exhibit "A" shall be determined for that portion of Fire Protection District No. 17 which is within the area served by the Cypress exchange of General Telephone Company and more particularly described on the attached Exhibit "B" which is by this reference hereby made a part hereof. The compensation by Fire District No. 17 shall not exceed 66% of the average allocation based on the formula contained in Exhibit "A" attached to this contract. Note: It is understood that the compensation by Skagit County Fire District No. 17 shall be 66% of the average allocation based on the above formula.
