The assembly joined in the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call found present City Councilmembers Eric Johnson, Ryan Walters, Erica Pickett, Brad Adams, Liz Lovelett and John Archibald. Councilmember Matt Miller was absent. Licensing Agreement: Microsoft Windows 7 and Office 2013 Finance Director Steve Hoglund explained that when this contract was presented to Council for approval at its regular meeting on March 3, 2014 the pricing had been listed as approximately$45,000 in three annual installments. He said that the price is actually approximately$45,000 per year for three years for a total contract price of$135,202 over three years before sales tax. Mr. Hoglund noted that this item had been projected at$150,000 in the 2014-2019 Capital Facilities Plan. He said the correct price is still a good deal for the City, will keep operations on the leading edge of any software updates, and still allows staff to purchase personal copies of Office 2013 for$10 to keep their skills current. Mr. Walters agreed that the contract is a benefit for the City and reiterated his prior requests to have all contracts included in the City Council packets when or before they are presented for action. Mr. Adams inquired if any other licensing vendors were available. Mr. Hoglund said that other vendors do provide the same service off the State contract but that unlike other vendors CompuCom requires a minimum of only 200 rather than 250 licenses. Mr. Johnson asked what the contract would cost after the first three years. Mr. Hoglund replied that it would drop to about$20,000/year after the first three years if the City chose to renew. Councilmembers observed that new licensing options may be available by then. Mr. Johnson moved, seconded by Mr. Walters, to accept the contract as revised. Vote: Ayes—Walters, Pickett, Adams, Lovelett, Archibald, Miller and Johnson. Motion carried. There being no further business, the advertised special Anacortes City Council meeting of March 10, 2014 was adjourned. Anacortes City Council Minutes March 10, 2014 1
