RE: ' Chandler's Square- Phase 11
Zoning/Use Question
Dear Bob,
As Design/Build Group, Architects begins the design process for the Phase II of Chandler's Square,
this letter is to verify the use as it applies in the Anacortes Zoning Cade. Under the Anacortes Zoning
Code (AZC), Station 17.28.020, permitted uses include multi-family dwellings. This is different than
AZC 17.040 (C) which provides for a conditional use for assisted living facilities. The zoning code
detutes assisted living as:
"In contract with a nursing home, a congregate care facility is designed for
elderly residents who need care in a controlled setting with individual living
units".
It is our understanding that Phase II residents will be independent in nature, including the use of in unit
hookups of washer and dryer facilities. These residents may decide to eat in Phase I dining room.
Phase 1 and Phase If will be connected through the use of a bridge over the alleyway.
