THERMOPLASTIC MEMBRANE ROOFING
PART1 GENERAL
1.01 SECTION INCLUDES.
A. Provide an IB Roofing Systems (IBRS)MA PVC membrane roofing
system over an approved plywood roof deck, complete with related
insulation, separator sheets, flashings, and accessories and performing such
incidental or other work as may be necessitated by these operations.
B. Preparation of substrate to receive roofing materials.
C. Installation of separator sheets/thermal insulation.
D. Roof membrane application.
E. Roof flashings application.
F. Incorporation of sheet metal flashing components and roofing accessories
into the roof system.
1.02 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit product data of IBRS, samples, shop drawings, and IBRS installer
certification under provisions of Division 1.
B. Submit product data indicating membrane materials,base flashing
materials, insulation, separator/thermal insulation, accessories and
manufacturer's installation instructions and details.
C. Samples: Submit 8"x I V samples of specified color of IBRS PVC
membrane for approval.
D. Installer Certification: Submit certification from IBRS certifying that
installer is approved by IBRS for installation of specified roofing system.
E. Submit IBRS certificate under provisions of Division 1 that products and
installed system meet or exceed specified requirements.
1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Manufacturer: Company specializing in manufacturing the products
specified in this Section with minimum 20 years documented experience.
B. Applicator: Company specializing in applying thermoplastic roofing with
minimum five years documented experience and approved by IBRS.
C. Work of this Section to conform to NRCA Roofing and Waterproofing
Manual and manufacturer's instructions. It is the responsibility of the
applicator to address any conflicts or disparities between NRCA
requirements and manufacturer's requirements.
D. Materials: All materials shall be provided or recommended by IBRS and in
compliance with specification.
1.04 REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
A. Conform to applicable requirements of the Local Building Code for roof
assembly fire hazard requirements.
1.05 WARRANTY
A. Water tightness: Membrane roofing system, including membrane base
flashing, roof insulation, and roofing accessories, is part of the watertight
integrity of the project and as such shall be warranted for Five years (or
other time period as required by the state/local contractors licensing
board)by the Roofing Contractor.
B. Manufacturer's Warranty: Submit executed copy of IBRS 15 yr
Commercial Limited Materials Warranty Warranty agreement from the
date of final acceptance by the Owner.

2.03 ROOFING ASSEMBLY SUMMARIES:
A. Roof Deck: 1/2 in plywood.
B. Substrate: Roof deck must be clean, dry, smooth, and structurally sound to
receive the new roofing system. Drainage must be incorporated in the
design to prevent ponding water.
C. EPS 1/2" Fanfold is to be attached to the roof deck per the uplift design
pressures determined by the Authority Having Jurisdiction(AHJ)/Design
Professional as outlined by the 'International Building Code' (IBC) and
ASCE-07.
D. Field Membrane,Mechanically Attached over the surface of the specified
components per the Roofing Manufacturers IBRS attachment requirements
for the design pressure determined by the Authority Having Jurisdiction
(AHJ) and the building code (whichever is more stringent).
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 PROTECTION
A. Protect building surfaces against damage from roofing work. Provide
safety barriers and other protection devises as needed to protect property
and people.
3.02 ROOF DRAINS
A. Roof drains to connect to existing roof drain system.
3.03 ROOF SCUPPERS
A. Exact type or style of scupper or roof drain will be determined once
existing drains are freed from current roof system.
3.04 ROOF VENTS
A. Roof vents to be installed per IBRS venting specifications for this type of
roof system. Vents are supplied to vent the roofing system,not the
structure itself.

A. What does this warranty cover?
IB Roof Systems, hereafter known as(IBRS), proudly warrants that the IBRS membrane will be free from
manufacturing defects and, so long as the membrane is correctly installed according to IBRS product installation
specifications over a compatible substrate, IBRS further warrants that the IBRS membrane will not, due to
manufacturing defects, deteriorate to the point of permitting leaks through the membrane material for the period
specified below under normal conditions,subject to the other written terms and exclusions of this Warranty, or IBRS
will provide a replacement IBRS membrane shipped to your building site.
This Warranty does not become effective unless full payment of all invoices f Ilation and material has been
received. This Warranty also requires you to notify IBRS of any leaks or del s provided in G below. Repair,
alteration, removal or addition to an installed roof membrane without notice a S's prio itten authorization

B. How long does the coverage last?

fallout a I and the"Satisfactory"designation on the Chemical Compatibility Sheet in the
"Approvals"section of th S ifications manual current as of the Installation Date;
f.Animals,plants,in or other organisms, including algae, moss, fungi, lichens, mold, or mildew,on or
beneath the membrane;
g.Any buildin or component other than the IBRS membrane,including without limitation:
Improper flashings gs;caulking,seams or any other connection, product or adhesive that ties or connects
the membrane to any other product, component or structure, including penetrations through the membrane;
improper ventilation; cracking, deterioration or failure of any other material, component or product other than the
membrane itself.
2.Maintenance. IBRS does not warrant maintenance issues. The owner must take reasonable care in
maintaining the roof,for example, cleaning gutters, roof drains and scuppers; keeping the roof free of debris;and if
required, properly caulking any areas(such as reglets, pitchpans, etc)to maintain waterproofing.
3.Discoloration. IBRS does not warrant the appearance of the membrane, including stains,fading or
discoloration or dirt retention, or odor.
4. Inspections. Inspection(s) (if any)of the installation or condition of a roof are solely for IBRS's information and
convenience, and any such inspection(s)shall not create any additional duty, liability or warranty by IBRS,express or
implied, nor any additional remedy for the Owner or any other person.
5.Workmanship. IBRS does not warrant or cover the workmanship of any installer. The designation of an IBRS
installer as"approved" means the installer has received initial training related to IBRS products and in no way is
intended to warrant workmanship in any particular case.
6. Removal or repair. IBRS does not provide labor or cover the cost to remove, dispose, re-install,construct,
repair or maintain any product, improvement or structure except for the replacement of the IBRS membrane to the
limited extent provided in C.
E.REMEDIES LIMITED TO SHIPMENT OF NEW MEMBRANE. The remedy stated in C above is the SOLE AND
EXCLUSIVE REMEDY for failure of the roof membrane described herein.IBRS SHALL UNDER NO
CIRCUMSTANCES WHETHER FOR BREACH OF CONTRACT,WARRANTY RS'S NEGLIGENCE,STRICT
LIABILITY IN TORT,OR OTHERWISE,BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR EQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF
ANY KIND INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES TO ANY BUl ,ITS CONTENTS,AND ANY
PERSON DUE TO ANY CAUSE,INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION UCT FAILURE,LEAKS,
MOISTURE,CONDENSATION,MOLD,ORGANISMS,OR ODORS,FIR TION O CONOMIC OR
BUSINESS EXPECTATIONS,LOSS OF PROFITS,LOSS OF DATA,COS AP FACILITIES OR
SERVICES,OR DOWNTIME COST.
F. LIMITATIONS OF WARRANTY.
1. THIS WARRANTY STATES IBRS'S ENTIRE LIABILITY A PLACES ALL RaWOR
WRITTEN WARRANTIES. ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIE ING IMPLIED WA OF
MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTIC E,A EREBY EXPR Y DISCLAIMED
AND EXCLUDED. NO REPRESENTATIVE IS AUT ED TO TO AN GE WARRANTY.
2. This Warranty shall be considered void in ent tha repai t k is done on or
through the roof membrane(i)without IBR ' rior w appr of the pr ork,and/or(ii)not in
accord with the IB Roof Systems Specifica nual the date of roposed work. Asa
condition of service under G below,the install BRS s e reasonable access to the roof during normal
business hours.The Owner shall be responsibl st of I investigation to the extent defects are
determined not to be covered by the Warranty.

Immediately call the original roo i hen RS a 26-1626 within five(5)days of discovering the
problem. Failure to notify IBRS withi od hours at IBRS's sole discretion, render this
