Dear Sirs, Pi4t,, - -

Echotech Solar is proposing installing solar systems at 1200 0 Ave and 1300 0 Ave in),' C)o, , '" ;
Anacortes, WA(formerly Anacortes Senior Housing, now Chandler's Square Retirement '„ `4.v 1'
Community). The solar panels have a distributed weight of 2.70 pounds per square foot '°{), --j
(psf). 45,i
I reviewed the original building structural drawings prepared by myself in 1996. The
2012 IEBC allows a 10% increase in lateral loads and a 5% increase in vertical loads
before the structural system has to be re-evaluated by an engineer. According to the
original drawings the roof design snow load is 30 psf; the design dead load is not listed
in the drawings. The current design snow load is 25 PSF. The increase in additional
dead load due to the proposed solar panels is less than the excess snow load that the
roof was originally designed for, so there is no need for additional engineering
calculations to re-evaluate the capacity.
If anything else is required regarding this matter, please call me at (425) 269-5204, or
email to cemens@cjreng.com .

Hi Jack,
Let's try this again...
Thanks a lot for your time on Friday - I really appreciate it. I've attached the updated site map for you with the following additions:
• The larger east-facing array is moved south away from the dormer to the north
• The DC conduit runs on the roof are marked in red
•The access points to the east and west roofs are called out.
•The location of the AC disconnects for the solar are marked on each building
I've also attached the statement you requested regarding the compliance of the electrical work with the IFC and NFPA 70.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again for working with me on this.
Best,
Dana

Rails & Splices When top mounting panels, the lengths of XR Rails required for each row may be determined by
multiplying the quantity of modules in a row by the modules width.Add to this 1/4 inch space between
each module and 1.5 inches to each end for the total length of rail required for that row.
