The City of Anacortes Parks Department is requesting a Shoreline Exemption for a crew to remove and replace <br /> five existing firepits with eight fire rings in the same area along the beach. Parks crew will use a mini excavator <br /> to remove the old fire pits and will keep all the equipment on the grass and off the beach. All work will be <br /> conducted above the OHWM. <br /> 2. The proposed work would not result in a new impact or overwater coverage. <br /> 3. The City of Anacortes Washington Park Boat Launch Maintenance project(SLX-2021-0015—Washington Park <br /> Boat Ramp) includes a habitat assessment and beach nourishment for the areas around the fire rings and is <br /> for a multi-year project. As a result, the proposed project will not require an additional habitat assessment as <br /> determined by the City's Floodplain Administrator. <br /> CONCLUSIONS OF LAW <br /> 1. The proposed maintenance project, as conditioned, are consistent with SMP 2.4(E)(2) &WAC 173-27- <br /> 040(2)(b). <br /> 2. As conditioned, the proposal is consistent with the policies of the Shoreline Management Act. <br /> 3.
