The City's Floodplain Administrator determined that a Floodplain Development Permit <br /> (FDP) is required for the proposed work. An FDP was submitted to the City's Floodplain <br /> Administrator on March 18, 2022. <br /> SMP A-3: Geologically Hazardous Areas <br /> Based on the City mapping system, the project location is adjacent to an identified area <br /> of tsunami hazard. <br /> SMP A-5: Fish and Wildlife Conservation Areas <br /> • Based on the City and WDFW's PHS on the Web mapping system, the project <br /> location is within 300 feet of red sea urchin and pinto abalone shellfish critical <br /> areas habitat group. The proposed work is located landward of this mapped <br /> habitat, and the upper portion of the beach where the firepits will be located is <br /> not red sea urchin or pinto abalone habitat. As such, the proposed work will likely <br /> not lead to loss of ecological function for this habitat type. <br /> • Per City and WDFW's PHS on the Web mapping, the proposed project site is <br /> located within 300 feet of a Biodiversity Area and Corridor with a note from <br /> WDFW that this site is used by bald eagles while hunting. The proposed work <br /> will not alter existing use. <br /> • Per City and WDFW's PHS on the Web mapping, the proposed project site is <br /> located within 300 feet of surf smelt spawning habitat.
