• <br /> PRESS RELEASE <br /> STREET CLOSURE ON January 14, 2009 <br /> . The City of Anacortes will be closing the south bound lane of Q Avenue at 17th <br /> Street will be closed on January 14, 2009 from 8:30 am to approximately 12:30 <br /> pm so the WSDOT Signal Department can complete the repair and replacement <br /> of the 17th Street signal components. <br /> A detour will be in effect for the southbound traffic on Q Avenue during this time. <br /> From Q Avenue, the traffic will be directed westbound on 17th Street to <br /> Commercial Avenue, then south on Commercial Avenue. <br /> During the December storm and power outages in Anacortes, the 17th Street <br /> signal at Q Avenue was severely damaged, making the signal functions <br /> inoperable, with the exception of being able to wire the signals in flash mode for <br /> public safety. <br /> The northbound traffic will not be affected as the lane will remain open during this <br /> time. Please use caution when traveling in this vicinity.
