Narrative: <br />The Samish Nation is pursuing development of a new Early Learning Center at the <br />former D Ave Nursery site. The new center will be very comparable to the existing <br />Samish Longhouse two doors down. <br />Applicant owns (2) separate legal parcels. The north lot P56215 is 5,971 s.f. and is <br />occupied by a vacant residence and gravel parking areas which will be demolished. <br />The south lot P56255 is 14,927 s.f. occupied by a vacant plant nursery and graveled <br />parking areas which will be demolished. <br />Applicant plans to design and construct a new 4,130 s.f. early learning center with a 400 <br />s.f. covered play area. The Staff count will be up to 17 adults and there will be up to 40 <br />children. Site improvements include a new staff parking lot on the north lot will be <br />developed including alley improvements and additional parking. A total of 19 parking <br />stalls will be provided on site. <br />Off-site improvements on D Avenue, 15th Street and 16th Street along with additional 13 <br />parking stalls on 16th Street will be improved per an inter-local agreement between the <br />City and the Tribe.
