(TZE) <br />Subject: Flounder Bay – Dock Project 5203 Smith <br />We are requesting permit review for this proposed improvement project. <br /> <br />This project is located in Flounder Bay within Skyline Marina in the City of Anacortes in <br />Skagit County Washington. Project is located at 5203 Doon Way, Anacortes, WA 98221. <br />Skyline Division #11, Lot 18, Parcel B. T35N R1E S27, 48.49299N, Long 122.676506W. <br />Scopes of work is described in more detail below. In general, this project will upgrade the <br />existing dock by replacement of creosote piling with 12” steel piling, dock replacement, <br />gangway replacement and relocation closer to the north property line. <br /> <br />5203 Doon Way, Owner - Jason Smith – Replace four creosote piling with two 12” <br />galvanized steel piles, replace gangway, remove the existing pier and replace the existing <br />wood float with a wood framed FRP grated float. <br /> <br />The proposed float will be 6.5’ x 30’ with an OWC of 180 sq ft. The existing float tapers <br />from 8’ down to 4’ and has and OWC of approximately 216 sq ft. Proposed floats will be <br />wood framed with FRP grated decking with approximately 62% light permeability. <br /> <br />The existing 2.5’x30’ steel framed wood deck gangway will be replaced with a 4’x40’ <br />aluminum FRP grated decking gangway. The proposed longer gangway will eliminate the <br />need to reconstruct the 4’x10’ wood pier supported by two creosote piling at the proposed <br />location. The existing 4’x4’ concrete abutment and pier will be replaced by a 6’x4’ concrete <br />abutment to secure the proposed gangway in place. <br /> <br />City of Anacortes Permits <br />• Land Use Permit <br />• Floodplain Development Permit <br />• Shoreline Substantial Development Permit <br />• SEPA Review <br /> <br />The shoreline is designation is Shoreline Residential and the uplands includes single family <br />homes. <br /> <br />The proposed improvements follow the City of Anacortes Shoreline Master Program (SMP) <br />and specific use policies and development regulations as outlined in chapter 9 of the SMP. <br /> <br />09/16/2021 <br />SDP-2021-0011
