DocuSign Envelope ID:6E99D609-8892-4894-A990-2B91 EE488E4B <br /> RESOLUTION 2098 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANACORTES, <br /> WASHINGTON, authorizing the signature and execution of a Memorandum of <br /> Understanding extending the current Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of <br /> Anacortes and the Anacortes Police Guild (Non-Commissioned Staff) <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Anacortes ("the City") and the International Association of <br /> Firefighter Union Local 1537 ("the Union"), (collectively "the Parties") have a Collective <br /> Bargaining Agreement ("CBA") in place effective January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2020; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Parties met in January 2020 to discuss a possible wage-only extension <br /> to the current CBA for 2021 <br /> WHEREAS, in March 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic set in; <br /> WHEREAS, and in May 2020 the parties again discussed the possibility of a wage-only <br /> extension under the changing circumstances; AND <br /> WHEREAS, the City's Director of Human Resources & Labor Relations has resigned <br /> effective August 5, 2020 leaving the City without a designated labor negotiator for a period of <br /> time; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Parties agree the general terms of the current CBA are working well <br /> under current circumstances, however the Union will have items to address with the City in <br /> bargaining; AND <br /> WHEREAS, the Parties wish to provide stability to the Anacortes Police Department <br /> operations and Non-Commissioned staff; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Anacortes City Council that the <br /> Mayor be authorized and directed to execute the attached memorandum of understanding <br /> effective upon signature, 2020 by and between the City of Anacortes and the Anacortes <br /> Police Guild(Non-Commissioned Staff). <br /> The foregoing resolution was ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Anacortes, <br /> Washington, at a regular, open public meeting thereof this 10th day of August, 2020. <br /> (,atait, Gt,Vt, <br /> Laurie Gere, Mayor <br />
